Work one nail at a time and flash cure in between.

Mix the polish. The magnetic particles can settle at the bottom, so stir the cateye polish well before starting.
Apply cateye. Apply a thick, smooth, and even layer of cateye gel over the entire nail. Do not cure yet.
Place the magnet (left side). Hold the magnet with the silver side facing up and line it up so it runs in the same direction as the nail. Slowly bring the magnet close to the left side of the nail without touching it.
Twist and pull (left). When the magnet is very close to the nail (about 2 to 3 mm away), slowly twist the magnet away from the nail about 45 degrees until you see the line of light form. Quickly pull the magnet straight away from the nail. Do not cure yet.
Repeat on the right side. Hold the magnet the same way on the right side of the nail and repeat the same twist and pull motion until a wide band of light forms across the nail.
Create the top highlight. Bring the magnet close to the free edge (tip) of the nail. When it is 2 to 3 mm away, slowly twist the magnet toward the nail about 45 degrees until a thin line forms, then pull the magnet away quickly.
Cure. Once you’re happy with the design, fully cure the nail (or flash cure it, repeat on the other nails, and then fully cure all at once). Cure right away, because the magnetic particles will slowly move if you wait too long.
